Why are my pipes making banging noises

It is expected that homeowners may hear a noise coming from their water pipes to be completely genuine. But it isn’t forever the issue. Far too often, we just get exploited to it and forget the racket. But doing so can induce them to get harmed. There are several explanations why your water pipes are producing a banging racket. If you have noticed that a new banging noise is coming from your pipes, or it has become louder than in the past or a pre-existing sound, here are a few explanations that may be occurring. There can be additional explanations if your pipe is creating banging noises.

1.High Water Pressure

High water pressure is one of the most common and basic reasons for a banging noise in your water pipes. Your water pressure PSI should be between 40 and 70 (as per demand). If it is greater, a valve will need to be placed to lower the pressure. To install a pressure reducer valve in this situation, contact a Waterguard Plumbing plumber. This should eliminate the hammering sounds and fit on the main water valve to assist in controlling the water pressure.

2.Problems with the Water Hammer

This is probably a water hammer if the loud noise only occurs after you turn off the water. Older plumbing causes this. When the valve gets closed, the water is turned off, and the water collides with it. To assist with this, one of our plumbers may install a water hammer arrestor.

3.Loose Pipes

Your water pipes will make a pounding sound if the pipes have fallen loose over time. The pipes are working to maintain pipe works, which are held in place by metal parts, although they may fall free with time. This might be the cause if the pounding sound only occurs while the water is flowing. You can tighten the straps yourself if you can get to the pipes. If not, you may hire a Water guard plumber, who will examine your pipes while they are there.

4.Too Little Water

If there is too little water, then your hot water pipes can make a banging noise because there will be too much air in them. It will be a reason for the water to make noise inside the pipes when it is moving around. Call a qualified expert of ours to adjust the water temperature for you.

5.Loose Washer

If the washer is loose or broken, then it can also be the reason for noisy pipes. If you are hearing a louder sound or you feel that the loose washer is the reason, you can get in touch with us, so our expert plumber will check and come to fix this issue.
